The Heathrow Cargo Tunnel in London is being renovated. A modern safety concept is being implemented. A retrofitted structural fire protection system made of Aestuver® Tx fire protection boards protects the entire concrete structure of the 800-metre-long building, including the reinforcement, from increased temperature stress in the event of a fire.
The fire protection system is implemented with Aestuver® Tx fire protection boards. They were specially designed to protect the concrete structure in underground transportation facilities from increased temperature stress.
A permanently good choice
Aestuver® Tx fire protection panels also offer long-term advantages: As the panels can be dismantled individually and reassembled later, they ensure damage-free inspection and inspection of the concrete structure of the tunnel and the component joints. Existing screw or drill holes can be reused. In addition, the uniformly smooth surface of the panels provides the ideal substrate for painting or coating and makes cleaning easy. All standard cleaning methods can be used with water or steam jets - including the use of cleaning additives.
