Heathrow, Cargo Tunnel, London

The Heathrow Cargo Tunnel in London is being renovated with a modern safety concept. Aestuver® fire protection boards Tx are used to protect the 800-meter-long concrete structure from fire.

With it's weather resistant Aestuver® fire protection boards this system ensures long-term safety and ease of maintenance. In terms of a fire a lot of money and trouble can be saved  because studies show that the costs of not installing fire protection barrier are much higher than the installation costs.

Söderledstunnel, Stockholm

During the fire protection modernization of the Söderledstunnel in Stockholm, the concrete structure of the ceiling was clad with the Aestuver® fire protection board T , which was specially developed for underground traffic facilities. The material properties  of the Aestuver boards and the resulting ease of application ensured rapid construction progress. The appearance of the surface, which was also supported by the high quality of the workmanship, made a lasting impression on the client.

The entire construction project, including the installation of a total of 23,000 m² of  Aestuver panels, was completed in just 18 weeks.

Bergiseltunnel, Austria

As part of the modernization of the fire protection system in the busy Bergiseltunnel near Innsbruck, the concrete structure of the ceiling was protected with Aestuver® Tx fire protection panels, specially designed for the highest safety requirements in underground traffic facilities.

The entire installation of the approx.19,000 m² of Aestuver® panels Tx was completed by TBT in just 12 weeks - plus one week for the remaining work.

 


Tuen Mun – Chek Lap Kok Link, Hong Kong

The Tuen Mun – Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL), opened on 27 December 2020, connects the Northwest New Territories with the Hong Kong Port, North Lantau, and the Hong Kong International Airport.
This strategic link reduces travel time between Tuen Mun and the airport by about 20 minutes and alleviates traffic congestion.
TM-CLKL includes a 9.7-kilometer highway with a 4.8-kilometer underwater tunnel, making it Hong Kong’s deepest and longest sub-sea road tunnel. The project features several pioneering innovations and has received numerous awards for its engineering excellence and environmental focus.
 
Aestuver®  fire protection boards Tx in various thicknesses were used to protect the concrete TBM elements and the OHVD slab from fire. 
 
Approx. 460,000 m² of fire protection boards (65 football fields), 520 km of backing strips and approx. 3.2 million anchors were delivered in 18 months without interruption, ensuring the smooth execution of the project.
